So we are now all here and beginning to find our feet a bit. We still have no furniture so it does feel a bit like we are squatting in someone else's house, but we've now got a few of the things we needed straight away.

The flight over was fine. The hardest part was actually trans-porting the huge amount of luggage we had from the car to terminal at each end. Both Louis and Chloe were very good with the flight and got lots of attention from the crew.
Max safely arrived the evening after we had landed. I went to collect him from the airport and he seems fine. He's found his way around the house now and is already bugging us to go outside, but we need to keep him in for a while - don't want him trying to find his way home from here!
All the family like the house (phew!) and the neighbourhood seems very nice. We're a couple of minutes walk away from a park which Louis loves and the weather so far has been outstanding - sorry for those of you currently enjoying the snow in England ;)

We've worked out the grocery shopping thing and stocked up, and even been to the local ikea to get some essentials, including a couple of $5 chairs for something to sit on.
This morning we went for brunch with a work colleague of mine in Cupertino which was very nice, and they have lent Louis a whole bunch of Duplo to play with until his toys arrive. This afternoon we went to buy a bed (enough of sleeping on an airbed!) and got a new TV (Toby - you need to see this!).
Tomorrow I'm back to work and Kate is going to stay home and wait for our bed to be delivered. We still need to sort out vehicles for when our rental runs out next weekend and Kate is starting to come around to the idea of a mini-van. Leaves the coast clear for my 2 seater :)
We've been taking pictures of the places we've been going to and so will post some soon. We now both have local phone numbers (so email if you want them as I don't want to post them here) but are still waiting to sort out phone and internet access at home.
We'll post more soon when things have calmed down a little.

Louis looks tiny in that massive seat. Glad to hear you are settling in nicely. You got out just in time for the record snowfall.
